Tall Ship Sailing Experience from Portland, Dorset!

Brownsea Island

Brownsea is an island in Poole Harbour which is a nature reserve owned by the National Trust and is home to a wide variety of wildlife and habitats, all within a relatively small area. The island is home to the famous red squirrels and on the lagoon you may watch migrating birds or spot dragonflies and lizards in the heath. You may step ashore on the island as part of our Brownsea Island Adventure day trip or take the shorter picnic lunch trip which moors just off the island.
This is the view of the castle where Moonfleet moors up for the picnic lunch trip. There is also a great view from the mooring into the lagoon where many rare birds and other interesting creatures may be spotted in their natural habit. We have binoculars aboard that you are welcome to use!
