Alum Bay

A couple of hours sailing due east brings us to The Isle of Wight's famous Needles - chalk stacks very similar to Old Harry Rocks and once thought to be connected millions of years ago.

 

The first bay in The Needles Channel is Alum Bay, picturesque in many ways from its colourful sands, rockfalls and view across to The Needles with its iconic candystick lighthouse.

A lovely sheltered anchorage that is deep enough to allow Moonfleet to get in close enough to really appreciate the differing sand colours.
